Rioja Consulting was engaged to provide interim Business Development Director services to review the existing sales strategy and implement the changes necessary to take the business to the next level. Working closely with the owner of the business, Rioja carried out a full scale sales audit incorporating all aspects of the sales cycle including the sales capability of staff, sales processes, post sale customer management, 'go to market' strategies as well as client acquisition. The result was a 60% increase in revenue within 3 months of the implementation of the revised sales and marketing strategy.

Rioja Consulting was engaged to provide part time Sales Director support following a comprehensive sales audit of the business. The initial focus was to ensure the business could identify 'what a good customer looks like' and apply appropriate account management processes to ensure maximum efficiency. A similar process was applied to new target clients with the application of KPIs and specific actions plans targeting those businesses that would deliver most sustainable profit. Underpinning the strategy was a comprehensive training programme for all customer facing staff. The result was a 29% uplift in sales after 6 months.

Rioja Consulting was hired to carry out a review of existing sales and marketing systems and processes. We worked closely with the Managing Director and senior sales staff to review and ultimately overhaul the existing sales processes to deliver a revised sales strategy. Further support was provided to assist the acqusition of new clients including the mentoring of the Sales Director and coaching and development for sales staff. Rioja was also engaged to review and overhaul the marketing programme, critically reviewing marketing literature and creating a multi faceted marketing programme. The UK Centre of Excellence for Transport Telematics


Rioja Consulting was retained to support a bid for £6.7 million Government funds to create the world's first transport telematics centre of excellence in the UK. Following the successful bid, Rioja was further engaged to support the development and implementation of a sales and marketing strategy from scratch as well as providing client acqusition work - within 9 months, Rioja had succesfully secured revenue from five leading global vehicle manufacturers, a number of the best known network carriers as well as four of the world's largest tier 1 automotive suppliers; generating revenue of over £2 million in 12 months.
